Recovery is a wrap. MD Buddy Muscle Floss Bands are an effective alternative to foam rollers as a means of targeting trigger points, spurring myofascial release, improving mobility and relieving sore hardworking muscles after an intense workout.
Crossfit athletes and bodybuilders rely on this tight-fitting latex rubber wrap to improve range, restore joint mechanics, and work loose matted-down or previously injured tissue. Available in red .006 mm and black .051 mm bands, muscle floss envelops joints and muscle groups like elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles, biceps, triceps, quads/hamstrings, and calves.
Starting from the top and working down, each successive wrap covers 50% of the width of the last, creating complete compression over sore areas. The wrap stays on during 30-second to 2-minute cycles of movement and is removed for a second period of activity, allowing you to assess whether you need to reapply the wrap. Proponents tout its ability to provide overall relief to a complete muscle area, as opposed to one particular point at a time.
IMPORTANT: Muscle floss is effective when tightly wound, but you do not want to cut off circulation. The general rule of thumb is to stretch the strip to about 150% of its original length. It is recommended that you consult a physical therapist or conditioning coach to help you master the wrapping technique. Do not wrap muscle floss around your neck, face/head, torso or groin area.
